Joni was a lifelong member of Faith Baptist Church. Upon returning home, she took a job with Tower Federal Credit Union where she was working as an Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Member Services at the time of her passing. She attended Liberty University and majored in Computer Information Systems. She was a two sport athlete earning All-State honors in field hockey.
Joni grew up on Maple Road in Linthicum and graduated from North County High School in 2006. She was cherished by her nieces Berkley and Baylor and nephews Blake Alexander and Brooks Jefferson, and adored by twenty-five first cousins, and many aunts, uncles, and friends. Watkins Jr., parents David and Kathy (Ratliff) Dayton of Glen Burnie, mother-in-law Deborah (Shires) Watkins of Glen Burnie, maternal grandmother Mary Frances Ratliff of Severna Park, sister Jessie Frances Dayton of Lexington, KY, brother Jefferson Orlo Dayton (Amanda) of Pasadena.
Joni is survived by her beloved husband Robert L. Joni was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Jessie Vivian (nee Gruwell) and Orlo Hazen Dayton, maternal grandfather, William Orville Ratliff, and father-in-law, Robert Lee Watkins, Sr. Joni Dayton Watkins Joni Dayton Watkins (MaDecember 5, 2020) of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away December 5, 2020.
